Since January we have witnessed people from around the world fighting for their lives.
Sadly, more than 450,000 people have lost their battle and families grieve in isolation. A review of what could have been done better to reduce deaths will unfold but what we need to focus on is what lies ahead of us...
Technology has advanced and should be used to help protect those we are responsible for. From mobile apps to track and trace infected people to signage at your local supermarket have all developed rapidly in the last 6 months.
"By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail" is a quote from Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. Wise words uttered mostly in hind-sight. So why has technology not been recognised as an important tool to protect us?
The NHS have invested in digital signage to direct and inform patients and staff and now supermarkets have made the same investment. This is just the obvious start of using technology but here are some more suggestions to consider:
